The Professional Shop & Merchandise

The Club Professional at Walmer & Kingsdown Golf Club is Jude Read.  He started working at the club in 2001 as Head Assistant Professional and took over the role as Club Professional in October 2003.

The professional shop is fully stocked with some of the major brands including Titleist, Footjoy, Callaway, Ping, Benross, Proquip, Glenmuir, Glenbrae, Motocaddy, Greg Norman and many more.

Professional Honest Advice

Jude and his Assistant Professional Louis Harrington are always on hand to offer professional honest advice.

Special Society Discount

All visitors are welcome at the club and special discount is given to societies who chose to purchase their prizes from the shop. Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive markers can be provided to Societies and groups visiting the club free of charge. Please email Jude on to arrange this for your group.

Buggy and Trolley Hire

Jude offers members and visitors hire buggies and trollies.  There are three buggies available for hire and must be pre-booked to avoid disappointment. Please call the shop on 01304 363017 to book.

Golfing Essentials

Golfers visiting the club might find it useful to investing a yardage book from the shop to help navigate the course.  We also have a wide range of golfing accessories, shoes, clothing, clubs, waterproofs and golf bags and much more.  Please feel free to visit the shop and have a look around, you are most welcome.

Golf Tuition & Putting Lab

Golf tuition is available to members and non-members.  The club has a large practice ground that is over 300 yards long and 150 yards wide, with a practice chipping and putting green and practice bunker.  We have a covered teaching bay and grass tees to hit from.  

We can also use video analysis equipment using cSwing to get instant feedback on your swing.  We also have an indoor Putting Lab that uses the TOMI system to analyse your putting stroke to get instant improvements.

Club Repairs & Custom Fit

We offer a full range of club repairs at the shop, including re-shafting clubs, custom fit  and re-gripping.  If you have any problems with any of you clubs please bring it in and we will see if we can help.  

We also offer a while you wait club re-gripping service, so while you are having a drink in the clubhouse we will be able to re-grip your clubs ready for when you leave.
