Meet the team

Andrew Jones
P.G.A Club Professional.

Andrew comes to Walmer & Kingsdown with over 30 years experience of the golfing industry ranging from tournament golf, club & retail management and a top pedigree in the golf coaching world.

As a player he represented Wales, and Great Britain & Ire with multiple tournament successes along the way. Once turning professional, Andrew competed for several years on the European Challenge tour and PGA Mastercard Tour. Following this, he turned his attention to his PGA Club professional career, starting as assistant at Royal Cinque Ports and qualifying in 1996 with flying colours.

A brief 3 year period at Lydd GC as club professional set him up for his long and enjoyable 17 year post at Littlestone GC as club professional and director of golf. During this period, he was voted on to and became a regular contributor to Golf Monthly’s Top 25 coaching panel and continues to do so.

A short spell of full time coaching was followed by close to two years as club professional at Nevill GC and prior to starting at Walmer & Kingsdown, a period as director of coaching at Sene Valley GC.

These experiences have given him a broad and extensive knowledge of the golfing industry. A former county and national regional coach, he is passionate about player development and continues to grow his own knowledge and skills with the ultimate aim of helping all. Novice to tournament player, Andrew uses his experience to help enhance any player’s performance.

Ben Heaton
Assistant Professional

Ben joined Walmer & Kingsdown full time in April 2021, having previously worked in Insurance and Support Work, however his love for golf drew him to this industry. Having played golf for 13 years, as a member at Canterbury and Westgate & Birchington, Ben represented both clubs at EKL level and was junior captain at Westgate in his early years. Ben went on to turn professional in July 2021. Ben has aspirations of getting new people into the sport by offering golf lessons for all ages and plans to attempt to play golf around the country and abroad in the coming years.

Gary Dunster
Golf Retail & Administration

Gary joined the team in 2022 having been away from the golf industry for several years, he brings a welcoming smile and a willingness to help all members and visitors who come to the club.

He was a junior member of Walmer & Kingsdown and played to a 2 handicap for many years. He has excellent product knowledge to assist with any shop purchases and a long history with the club to help answer any questions.
