Score Card

The 18 holes of the Walmer & Kingsdon Golf Club are illustrated below, clicking on an image will show an enlarged version.

Hole 1

 Hole 1 - par 4 328 yards

A short opening hole, the fairway slopes from left to right, choose a club that will place you on the fairway, distance is not everything on this hole. Approach shot plays longer than it looks.

Hole 2

 Hole 2 - par 4 414 yards

A long par four, the fairway slopes from right to left.  Driver needed on this one, a second shot hit from the left side of the fairway will be easier than one hit from the right.

Hole 3

Hole 3 - par 4 385 yards

If it is down wind then driver is not needed, better to be on the fairway on this hole.   A tee shot hit just to the left of the marker should finish in the middle of the fairway as the fairway slopes to the right.

Hole 4

Hole 4 - par 3 136 yards

A well guarded green. A sheltered tee, makes judging the wind more difficult.  Take plenty of club as there is no trouble at the back of the green.

Hole 5

Hole 5 - par 4 340 yards

A short hole, the fairway slopes from right to left towards two bunkers.  Aim down the right side to leave a short iron to the green.  Choose a club that will place you on the fairway, distance is not everything.

Hole 6

Hole 6 - par 4 288 yards

A straight hole up the hill.  Take plenty of club on the approach shot to get the ball up to the hole.

Hole 7

Hole 7 - par 4 451 yards

Stroke index one!  Choose a club that will get you to the corner on the fairway from the tee.  Aim right on the second shot as the fairway slopes from right to left towards a bunker at the front of the green.

Hole 8

Hole 8 - par 5 497 yards

A long par five, up hill all the way.  Don’t cut too much off the corner on the drive as you will not gain very much.  Take plenty of club on the approach shot to ensure you get the ball all the way to the green.

Hole 9

Hole 9 - par 5 487 yards

A straight forward par five.  Easy enough to hit the green in three if you keep the ball on the fairway.  Chose a club that will place you on the fairway from the tee, then a comfortable second shot should leave you with a short iron to the green.

Hole 10

Hole 10 - par 4 341 yards

Short par four, downhill and sloping from right to left.  Aim your drive to the right of the grass bunker.  Choose a club that will place you on the fairway, distance is not everything on this hole.

Hole 11

Hole 11 - par 3 202 yards

A testing par three.  Aim to the right and hope for a friendly bounce to the green, all the trouble is on the left of this hole.

Hole 12

Hole 12 - par 5 507 yards

A long par five with everything sloping to the right.  A drive hit towards the left side of the fairway will leave you in a good place to decide whether to take on the bunkers on the second shot.  Aim well left on your approach shot as the bunker awaits any stray shots to the right.

Hole 13

Hole 13 - par 4 364 yards

A tricky hole. A short par four, difficult to keep the ball on the fairway.  Aim right and watch the ball until the end!  On the second shot take plenty of club; it plays further than it looks!

Hole 14

Hole 14 - par 3 135 yards

Take plenty of club, its all up hill and all the trouble is at the front on the green!

Hole 15

 Hole 15 - par 4 472 yards

A tough par four.  Try and hit your drive to the corner, hitting the fairway is a big advantage on this hole as you will probably need a long club for your second shot.  The fairway slopes from right to left.

Hole 16

Hole 16 - par 4 458 yards

The fairway slopes from right to left.  Aim down the right side to try and stay on the fairway.  Play for the middle of the green on the second shot as the bunker catches any shot that takes on too much.

Hole 17

Hole 17 - par 3 167 yards

Up hill all the way, take plenty of club as all the trouble is at the front of the green.  Favour the left side as everything slopes to the right towards the bunker.

Hole 18

Hole 18 - par 5 499 yards

An easy par five to finish, beware of the out of bounds down the right hand side.  Choose a club that will place you on the fairway from the tee.  After the drive everything slopes to the left towards a bunker just short of the green.
